This email will be sent by March 4, 2026 and may go to the attendee's junk or spam folder.  \n\nPlease contact cindy.aossey@outlook.com if you have questions about the Fluency Readiness Assessments or the content of this session.\n\nFLUENCY READINESS ASSESSMENT WEBINAR #2 SESSION DESCRIPTOR:\nIn this virtual session, participants will take a closer look at fluency readiness within 20 by exploring the targeted standards, the thinking behind why they were chosen, and the instructional focus embedded within them. Together, we will examine how thoughtfully designed assessment items aligned to these standards help teachers understand students’ readiness for fluency within 20 while gaining meaningful insight into student thinking and strategies. The session will deepen participants’ understanding of fluency readiness as more than just speed or accuracy, highlighting the importance of number sense and symbolic development, including the meaning of the equal sign and inequality symbols. Participants will also view video examples of the assessment in action and reflect on what this evidence reveals about students’ conceptual understanding and growth. The session will end with an open Q&A with the assessment creators.\n\nABOUT THE KCM\nThe Kentucky Center for Mathematics (KCM) is a state funded, non-profit agency located on the campus of Northern Kentucky University (NKU) in Highland Heights, KY.
