Figuring Out Fluency in Mathematics Teaching and Learning, Grades K-8: Moving Beyond Basic Facts and Memorization

Figuring Out Fluency in Mathematics Teaching and Learning offers educators the inspiration to develop a deeper understanding of procedural fluency, along with a plethora of pragmatic tools for shifting classrooms toward a fluency approach. This hands-on guide empowers educators to support students in acquiring the repertoire of reasoning strategies necessary for becoming versatile and nimble mathematical thinkers.
Join KCM's Bonny Riedell and Leah Dix online via Zoom each Thursday in February and March 2022 for a deep dive into this book.


Please note: ONLY Participants who teach in KENTUCKY will receive a free copy of this book. Math educators who teach outside of KY are welcome to participate in this book study, but they must be willing to purchase their own copy. 

Cost: FREE
Duration: 9 one-hour virtual sessions
SCHEDULE: 
All sessions will meet from 3:30-4:30 pm CENTRAL Time (which is 4:30 - 5:30 pm EASTERN Time).

Registration deadline for this book study is December 16, 2021 to allow enough time to order books. 
If you register for this book study and then are no longer able to participate, please contact the KCM to void your registration and offer your spot to another teacher.
