Event Description
This Professional Learning Event provides 5 Face-to-face days of customized Professional Learning for Grades K-5 for Lincoln County Schools. 
The facilitator for this PLE is Dee Crescitelli. 

DAYS 1 & 2 met on August 3 & 4, 2021, from 8 am - 3:30 pm (one hour lunch break), at Lincoln County High School 
  • Participants examined the Development of Mathematical Reasoning (Counting strategies, Additive Thinking, Multiplicative Reasoning, Proportional Reasoning, Functional Reasoning), and engaged in activities to use classroom discourse to build the reasoning of elementary (Counting to Additive to Multiplicative).
  • Participants received the book Mathematical Discourse: Let the Kids Talk and participated in Number Talks as learners before planning out the first week of discourse in their own classrooms.
  • Fluency Assessment training was embedded in the second day:  participants learned how to administer and score the KCM Kentucky Numeracy Project Fluency Assessments and discussed using the information from the assessments for planning mathematics instruction in elementary grades. 

DAY 3 met on Monday, November 1, 2021. 8:00 am - 3:30 pm with 1-hour lunch break. = 6.5 hours.
  • TOPIC = Counting Our Way to Multiplication 

Day 4: Monday, February 14, 2022. 8:00 am - 3:30 pm with 1-hour lunch break. = 6.5 hours.

DAY 5: Tuesday, May 17, 2022. 8:00 am - 3:30 pm with 1-hour lunch break. = 6.5 hours.
