Fluency Assessment Training with KCM Regional Consultant Sumer Smith:

In this 90-minute session, participants will learn how to administer and score the KCM Kentucky Numeracy Project Fluency Assessments. 

  • Fluency assessments are a free resource created by the Kentucky Center for Mathematics. 
  • The assessments are aligned to fluency standards for grades K-3.
  • Each assessment comes in 9 versions that can be used for progress monitoring. 
  • Fluency assessments are administered using a one-on-one interview format. 
  • Participants will gain access to the full suite of Fluency Assessments after completing the online training session and a practice assessment with an elementary-aged student.
  • Fluency Assessment Training is open to any educator, even those who teach outside of Kentucky.
DATE:  Wednesday, June 21, 2023 
TIME:  1:00 - 2:30 pm Eastern Time (which is 12:00 - 1:30 pm Central Time)
LOCATION: Virtual ZOOM Meeting  
  • Participants must be able to participate virtually on the date of the session at the scheduled time. This training is live and interactive; it is not recorded to be watched at any other time. 
  • Registered participants will receive the information they need to connect to the ZOOM meeting from the facilitator Sumer Smith (sumer.smith@louisville.edu). This email may go to your junk folder so look for it there. Please move any KCM emails you find in your junk folder to your inbox and mark the sender as safe. Thank you! 
  • The registration cut-off date for this event is Tuesday, June 20, 2023

  • Kentucky public school educators must use their "firstname.lastname@(school district).kyschools.us" email.
  • If you work for an organization and not a school or school district, please enter the name of the organization where you work and put OTHER for school district and N/A for county. 
  • If you teach outside of Kentucky, please include your state abbreviation in parenthesis after the name of your school district and school (or organization) and enter N/A for County.       
  • Please include the grade of math you work with on your position title: examples=3rd Grade Teacher; K-5 Math Interventionist; Curriculum Coach K-12.
  • The KCM does not sell or provide our member contact lists to anyone. The information provided on your registration is used only by the KCM.
