Rockcastle County District  Support - ELEMENTARY - Julie Adams (2024-25)
The KCM has contracted with Rockcastle County Schools to provide customized District Support for 2024-2025. 
The contact person at Rockcastle County Schools is Thomas Coffey- Coordinator Teaching and Learning

This event will record the ELEMENTARY school attendees from Rockcastle County who attend the following 2 days of professional learning with KCM Regional Consultant Julie Adams: 
Day 1: 7/15/24 - met at Rockcastle County Middle School CAFETERIA (
945 W Main St, Mt Vernon, KY 40456) 
Day 2: 8/21/24 - met at Roundstone Elementary School (6701 N. Wilderness Rd, Vernon, KY 40456) instead of the Middle School due to Open House. 
  • Day 2's PLE included the 90-minute Fluency Assessment Training. Participants must still submit a practice Fluency Assessment to Regional Consultant Sumer Smith to approve; then they are emailed the link to create their own Fluency Assessment Account.         

Julie will provide follow-up PLC Support at each Elementary school:
Roundstone Elementary:
1. 9/16/24 - changed to 10/14/24 due to highway shooter still on the loose.
2. 10/28/24 - changed to 10/30/24. Julie provided Fluency Assessment Training during this session.

Mt Vernon Elementary:

3. 1/13/25 - Rescheduled to 2/10/25
4. 2/27/25 - Rescheduled twice: to 3/24/25 and then to 4/16/25

DAY 1 RECAP:
Day 1 LOCATION: Rockcastle County Middle School CAFETERIA , 
 945 W Main St, Mt Vernon, KY 40456
Day 1 TIME: 8:00 am - 3:00 pm Eastern 
Day 1 MATERIALS: K-5 Rockcastle copy sets, Principles to Action books, and the following kits by grade for 44 participants.
DAY 1 ACTUAL ATTENDEES: 46 people signed in for Day 1; Principal Debbie Coleman & District Coordinator Thomas Coffey attended but did not sign in.   

DAY 1 Materials kits by Grade: 
Kindergarten = 11 participants. Each participant gets 3 boxes. 
1st Grade = 11 participants. Each participant gets 2 boxes.
2nd Grade = 8 participants. Each participant gets 1 box. 
3rd Grade = 8 participants. Each participant gets 1 box. 
4th Grade = 3 participants. Each participant gets 1 box.   
5th Grade = 3 participants. Each participant gets 2 boxes.
SPED = 15 participants. Each participant will choose one grade level kit from the K-5 kits
