Curriculum-based professional learning is on-going, job-embedded and rooted in active experiences (e.g., workshops, professional learning communities, peer observations and coaching) that allow teachers and coaches to evolve their practices, expand their content knowledge and challenge their beliefs (Short & Hirsh, 2023). Coaches and teachers collaboratively engage in protocols such as unit and lesson internalization, lesson rehearsal and student work analysis, to deepen their understanding of the content and pedagogy, and to address common concerns.
