This intensive professional learning event in Cognitive Coaching is required for the original COHORT 1 MAF Math Coaches who completed Cognitive Coaching. The KCM personnel working with MAF Schools will also attend this event. In addition, some KDE personnel may attend as well.
This professional learning event will be facilitated by Dr. Maggie B. McGatha M2 Consulting, and will include the following:
1. The Adaptive Schools 4-day Seminar will explore what makes teams effective and how to develop skills as facilitators and informed group members in informal and formal settings, in small and large groups. This seminar will take participants beyond the idea of professional learning communities to the actual implementation - describing specific ways to weave the collaborative fabric of a faculty, develop group member skills, and acquire the principles and understandings to engage in a continuous cycle of team and individual improvement.
2. The Cognitive Coaching Skill Builders are one-day, face-to-face seminars designed to build mastery around the maps and tools of Cognitive Coaching.
