FLUENCY READINESS ASSESSMENT WEBINAR #3 SESSION DESCRIPTOR:
In this virtual session, participants will take a closer look at fluency readiness within 100 and within 1000 by exploring the targeted standards, the thinking behind why they were chosen, and the instructional focus embedded within them. Together, we will examine how thoughtfully designed assessment items aligned to these standards help teachers understand students’ readiness for fluency within 100 and within 1000 while gaining meaningful insight into student thinking and strategies. The session will deepen participants’ understanding of fluency readiness as more than just speed or accuracy, highlighting the importance of number sense, strategy development and symbolic understanding. Participants will also view video examples of the assessment in action and reflect on what this evidence reveals about students’ conceptual understanding and growth. The session will end with an open Q&A with the assessment creators.
